From the Superintendent's Desk

On behalf of the students, staff and school board of Tannehill School, I would like to express our sincere thanks for the support of our community in approving our bond issue for a storm shelter/classroom addition. Our school board considered options for several months, doing research and deliberating on the framework of the project that would be the best solution to meet the needs of our students and community.

To every person that voted “no”, thank you for your civility. There were no verbal or print attacks made toward our school or officials. I respect your difference of opinion in regard to our project. I sincerely hope that when all is said and done that we can agree that this project has been marked by good stewardship of the necessary funds and that we will all continue to work together for the benefit of our young people.

To every person that voted “yes”, thank you so much for your support. I am deeply encouraged by all those that showed support and count myself very fortunate to be able to serve in a community like Tannehill. It is a great indication of the spirit of our community that many of those who were most vocal in support of this project were land owners with larger tax requirements. Special thanks to our wonderful staff for their tireless efforts to make our school the best that it can be and for constantly going above and beyond in serving our students.

Thank you all for participating in the process that will provide our community with a place of safety as well as contribute to a brighter future for the Tannehill School students of both today and tomorrow.

It’s a great day to be a BRAVE!
